Today I’m wishing all Christians a happy Three Kings Day, marking the end of the 12 days of Christmas. In my culture Dia De Los Reyes is pretty important, though usually involves less gifts, depending if you’re here or in Puerto Rico, where my family is from. Aside from family members and other Hispanics, most folks don’t really celebrate Three Kings Day so it can be tough to keep the tradition alive here in Connecticut. Today my daughter will get a gift (we didn’t leave hay or grass out for the camels this year) and we’ll speak to her about the Three Kings/Wise Men (Persian Priests actually) that followed the North Star to visit the baby Jesus thanking God for his gift to humanity. Aside from being a religious event, it’s a great story too.
